Quincy

Quincy is a man who knows what he wants. He prefers 'assertive' to bossy and thinks his strong personality is part of his charm. Quincy needs a home with an experienced owner who will make sure that Quincy can enjoy the stress-free life of a dog, and not the stressful life of a leader. In return, he'll give you lots of kisses and cuddles.

Rocky Print E-mail
Rocky is a 2 yr old black and tan boy. He is 14lbs, and very long. He was surrendered to Toronto Animal Control because of family allergies and Toronto Animal Control gave him to us. He is neutered, up-to-date on shots and even had a manicure. He is your usual 2 yr old boy, lots of energy, but basically a calm little guy. He lacks manners but we are working on that. He is mostly house broken and we are working on that too. He is a sweet sweet boy, who loves to snuggle and play with his toys. He gets along with all my dogs and even my cats. He had some separation anxiety, but as his self confidence builds this issue is corrected. With some work on his manners he will be a wonderful addition to any family.

Shanie Print E-mail

We were told that Shanie's last owner threatened to shoot him because he wasn't housetrained. Shanie is a wonderful, loving pup.  He is responding quite well to training and is showing lots of intelligence in his learning.  He knows what it means to go outside and once hes out in the backyard he understands when I say go pee, and when he does pee he gets tons of rubs and praises.  He walks well on a leash and loves his daily walks.

Shanie is understandably shy when first meeting people but he warms up really, really fast and is so loving.  He loves his good food and treats and already knows sit and down commands which of course get a 'good boy' treat afterward.  His coat is gorgeous and shiny and he looks very handsome.  I gave him a bath yesterday and he was very good and patient.

Shanie is small, weighs only about 7 lbs but he is tall so stairs and jumping are not a problem for him whatsoever.  He is mixed with either Chihaahaa or MinPin, but whatever his mix, hes a cutie.

He loves, loves, loves to play with all the toys and runs around with our dog all day!  Then they snuggle up like old pals and snooze.  Shanie needs to go to a house with another dog, it seems he really enjoys the security of another dog, and of course the romping around.

Bella and Cloe Print E-mail

  ADOPTION PENDING

Bella and Chloe
These two sweethearts were rescued from a backyard breeder. They love each other very much, and are a package deal. Bella is a 14-pound, black smooth mini, and is about 10 years old – but acts much younger. She likes to lead, and Chloe likes to follow. Chloe is a red smooth mini, and is about 4 or 5 years old, and 10 pounds (we’re trying to fatten her up a bit). They spend their days cuddling together in a knot, or looking for patches of sun to lie in.

Bella loves tummy rubs and chasing squirrels, and Chloe loves to do whatever Bella is doing. They both love to give kisses at night before bed. Neither is currently house-trained, but both are doing really well learning the rules with their foster parents, and will need a strong hand to continue this work. They are content to snuggle in their crate when their foster parents go out. Both have lost some of their fur due to over breeding and stress, so will need some extra help to grow a shiny coat.

They are great on their walks, and are mostly good with the dogs they meet in the park - they could go to a home with (an)other dog(s). They are fantastic with kids and haven't shown any signs of aggression. However, they should go to a cat-free home.

More dogs Print E-mail

We do have dogs in the rescue, but there is a short waiting list of approved applicants so there's a good chance the new dogs won't be on the site. If you apply to adopt and we don't have a suitable dog for your home, you are added to the waiting list once your application is approved. As dogs come in, they are matched to the approved adopters. If there are no approved adopters interested, THEN the dog goes on our site.

Please apply if you'd like to adopt a dachshund, or check back soon, we never know what tomorrow will bring.
