Please find me somebody to love

Doogle here-

No more marbles, healthy shiny skin and my big heart means I am ready to find a forever home, forever and ever!

Do you know anybody who wants a sweet wiener puppy? I would love a fur brother or sister to play with and snuggle.  I am a Dachshund so my house training isn’t perfect but I am getting better and want so badly to please my humans.

I have my paws crossed that I will find as much love and care that my foster parents have given me and I make CDR proud!

Will YOU love me?

Hey, where did my marbles go?

Ohhh.. I’m groggy and a little sore.  Foster Mommy took me to the dog doctor for a “procedure” – that’s a BIG word!  After being on the run with Deke/Buzz I don’t want to make babies, there are so many of us already!

The upside is that without my marbles I am one step closer to finding my forever home!  I can’t wait to have a family to love me and I will be “their Doogle” *sigh* that makes me feel so happy.  Back to sleezzzzz….

Yup I'm a Cuddlebug and proud of it!

Hi everyone!

Things in Doogle-land are going great!  I’ve finally learned how to go down the stairs so I can go up and down, up and down, up and – well you get the picture.  I love the sunshine and it’s sooo nice when it’s warm outside.  I’ve met birds – oh I like to bark at birds!  The garden smells so delicious I have to dig it up and find goodies in the dirt.  Foster Mom says I am just like any other puppy which makes me so happy to be a regular puppy!  Some smells make me sneezy and Mommy laugh like the dried flowers and the stuff she uses to clean up my accidents.  Yep I’m still learning the rules about that too :(

Look at me! Look at all my hair and my shiny skin!

Whew! I’m glad that’s over!

I thought I was going to piddle right on the table!

Going on the TV wasn’t as exciting as it was scary.  That is a strange place with weird smells, people and kittens, I was very, very nervous but I did my best to be a good boy.  I liked the nice lady who was holding me but I wondered if this big studio was my new home?  I love my foster Mommy and I know someday I will be in a forever home but there weren’t any toys there, or blankets.  I really wanted to wag my tail to all my friends watching (especially Jovi) but I couldn’t quite get it out from between my legs.

Please, please let my forever home have toys, blankets and sunshine!?

Imma be on TV!

Oh boy, I’m gonna be on the TV!  I don’t know what that means exactly but I get to go to a place with lots of people and meet a nice lady and tell people my story.  I’m on something called Animal House Calls on CP24, Tuesday March 9th @ 5:15pm in Toronto.

I want to send a signal out to all my friends who helped me get better and cared for me and Deke so when I wag my tail I’m saying hi and thanks to all my CDR friends.  Please watch me!

I Don’t Have Mange, But I Like to Eat!

I’m feeling GREAT these days!  Foster Mom took me to the dog doctor for a check in and he said I look marvelous!  My skin is all better no sign of the “mange” and I got a pointy thing in my backside for bad dog disease and soon I will take a nap at the dog doctor and wake up without my little boy parts.  I am so happy that all these nice people are taking good care of me and soon I will be in the box that Foster Mom likes to watch something called a TV?  I will fill you in on that soon.  Oh have you heard about this thing called sunshine?  It is the BEST thing, next to food and toys and love!

A nose knows...

Paws Crossed that I’ll be Getting Hair Soon!

Hi- its me Doogle.

Why does that white stuff keep coming from up there?  It’s hard on a little fella without much hair.  Foster mom says I am looking more red and shiny and less grey but I’m skinny and bald on my belly.   I have to wear a sweater outside that doesn’t match my eyes and the daisies aren’t really my style but a homeless wiener can’t be too picky can he?

Navy is the new black

I do everything nose first, oh there are wonderful smells here; food, Ingrid the dog, food, toys, crumbs on the floor, people and food!  I sleep ALL THE TIME, I love to sleep and wake up and realize that I wasn’t dreaming; I’m safe and happy and loved.

Shhh! I'm sleeping.....

I loves me some snuggles

Chillin' with the peeps

I’m a puppy, a REAL puppy!

I am so happy at my foster home that I have almost forgotten about that sad and scary “place” -almost.  I’m feeling so much better my skin is less itchy, my nose is healing, oh and the food here is yummy!

Foster mom says I am getting braver, I discovered stairs the other day and got all the way to the top.  I had to get some help back down….  I love to be warm and snuggle and poke my nose wherever it will fit.  I sleep next to the heater when my foster mom and dad aren’t snuggling me – boy I feel lucky!  Mom says that there are people in the computer that are helping me to get better, wow I don’t know what to say, I just feel so…YAHOO!!

Licks and noses,

Doogle

Hey there - wink wink

Sometimes it’s good to fail a test. I failed the ringworm test! The sore on my nose is just a sore that was taking too long to heal because my body is busy fighting off other stuff. I feel a little less icky now and my foster mom says that since I’m no longer contagious, I can play with the other dogs here! It’s so much fun to play.

I want to thank everyone for your help and to thank Jovienne for such a flattering picture. You’re all so kind and I’m doing my best to get healthy and not let you down. Right now I’m just taking my medication and waiting for it to work. When I go back to the doctor, he’ll know if it is working as he expected or if I need even more tests done. I feel a lot better, but since the rescue people don’t know where I lived when I was a tiny puppy, they don’t know if it’s neglect that allowed me to get so sick, or if my immune system is weak because of a disease or allergy or something else. They wonder why someone would abandon a purebred pup like me instead of selling me.

I’ve got a busy weekend planned. I’m going to run and run and play and play and play! I’m also going to do a lot of napping because I know I need to sleep a lot to get better. I hope that you have plans to have some fun, too.

Maybe I need to rethink things

Frankie

Hard at work

Sorry to disappoint, it’s just Frankie today. I’m going to interrupt your regular dose of Doogle cuteness with a dose of extreme Doogle and Deke cuteness.

I’ve always been a little suspicious of people I don’t know – especially little people.  They wear bright colours, they move quickly, and they smell like candy – but I’m not allowed to taste them. It’s not that I don’t like them, but I realized early on that they have to ask for snacks just like I do so there was really no point in turning on the doxie charm. What can a kid possibly do for me, you know?

Working in the rescue, I see the best and the worst of people. All of you people who are donating to help Doogle – you’re all officially on my ‘do not bite’ list, but I want to tell you about CDR’s biggest fan, Jovienne. She’s really special. Not only did she adopt a homeless dachshund (with help from her parents, of course), she has donated her allowance to help Doogle! It’s not the first time she’s donated to CDR, either. I was worried about Doogle’s bills cutting into my kibble fund so clearly she’s much more generous than I am and I have a new respect for kids.

But wait… Look What She Sent Me!!! The coats, the detail, THE BONES!!!  Not only did Jovienne send money, she sent love. This is the kind of thing that recharges all the volunteers in CDR. Here’s a shout out to Willow and Gumbah for training such a great owner!

How great are these??
