Three in the bed and the little one said…
I wanted to show everyone how I have mended my ways thanks to your advice. I’m happy to report that THE CAGE IS GONE. I no longer have to sit in jail when there is food around, and Holly and I have decided to stop trying to kill each other. For the past 8 months you would never catch us in the same room, let alone the same bed. But here we are… me, Dumb, and Bossy squished into one bed because ‘someone’ is being stingy with beds these days.
What does this have to do with rescue? Well, sometimes dogs, like people, don’t get along. Sibling rivalry, let’s call it. We get a lot of dogs in the rescue because of this. What did it take to fix it? Tough love. We have all been kicked out of the big bed and now sleep beside it in our own beds. We also now have some rules to follow (except Duchess because she’s an idiot) and the lady is speaking to us with authority instead of treating us like babies. Do I like it? No. But it sure beats everyone walking on eggshells waiting for the next fight, and me having to spend time in THE CAGE.
Don’t give up. If what you’re doing isn’t working, try something else.

Tough Love is a good thing, when done in the way that it gives all our space and special place in the family but together in a quiet and loving times too!!Jealousy can be handled and everyone is treated the same!!Way to go Frankie and your family!!(but who killed the dog bed is a sign.I Roman have done this deed when left alone and feeling neglected.)I Hydee, had to learn too that I am still special but not more than Roman.

Tough Love way is a good one if done to work for the whole family!!Jealousy can be controled cause I Hydee, had to learn that Roman gets the same special treatment as me and sharing food and beds or our own space if need be and hangin out together is okay too!!Roman had not lived with another dog for his first four years of life, but I have, so he had to learn to not be so pushy and I had to learn that I’m still special but he is too!!Way to go Frankie!!It’s never to late.An older dog can learn new tricks!!!!

Abby here: I wasn’t too thrilled when the Spankster showed up but Mum & Dad got him to be my seeing eye dog when my eyesight started to fail at 3 years old. I did try to nip him but Mum was quick to show me the error of my ways! I must admit I’ve gotten used to him & I miss him when he’s not around, but I do wish he wouldn’t lie on me instead of beside me!
